“There’s A Leak Here”

A poem by Idris Abdul-haq

There’s a leak here,
Fears that reek secrecy,
Pushing my sincerity out of place,
I only try,
To pave my path,
But trail deep into what matters to everyone but me.
There’s a peace here,
Enriched by chaos from time to time,
Abandoned by me from fear of losing it,
I’d rather walk away, then be walked away from.
