“The World’s Reality”

A poem by Oladipupo Gabriel Oluwamuyiwa

Have you ever wondered if the night is not
always dark?
Maybe the day is also the night with a spark of light.
Maybe that little light is to show the unique part of the night.
Maybe the night is telling us that it can have a bright light.
Maybe, just maybe, the day is another story of a sweet night.
Have you ever wondered if there is nothing like the night?

Maybe we have only the day but with a touch of darkness.
Maybe the dark part of the day is giving it a sense of power.
Maybe the day is telling us that the horses can also be dark.
Maybe it is saying that life is not always bright with light.

Have you ever wondered why we need to sleep?
Maybe to rest from the day’s struggles of getting food.
Maybe to lay down all the burdens of the world.
Maybe to dine and wine with our maker in the beyond.
Maybe just to go to the world we think is a paradise.

Have you ever wondered why we need to get rich?
Maybe to be heard by the people who love not the true you.
Maybe to help those who need someone to help them.
Maybe to make life easier for ourselves and our households.
Maybe to buy the horses and huts of the stylish world.

Life is always in pairs of things not related to what we want.
For this, I’ve quit wondering why things are things for things.
Maybe we can alter who we are with what we have.
But we can never change God with what we’ve acquired.
Therefore, how He wants the world to be will be a reality.
