“Love’s Chamber”

A Poem by Stuart Dann

The heart that feels the piercing.

Of the cold spike of love’s denial.

Each beat taken that is all alone .

Torment’s the mind as though on trial.

The blood that pumps love’s tune .

Is the silence hidden by thunder.

To not be what it was meant to be.

Persecuted become mere thoughts in wonder.

Anguished the pain of corrosion.

Of the many choices I could make.

Severs the vein’s that would bind.

Instead desertion of the heart that will break.

The force of nature worries the command.

To move Into love’s needed submission .

Delicate becomes love’s trodden echoes .

Steadfast the footprint’s of those decisions .

To want to be the destined equality of one .

Two sparrows in a hurricane trying to find their way .

Neither one wanting to hurt someone else.

Trying to define in words their love

each day .

Realism’s of the true reality of distance .

Upon love’s calling where wings become paralysed.

The overdose unbearable of the speculative.

Where each piece of positivity is a heart despised.

The now emptied heart that once was overflowing .

Shallow lies the broken soul of a disclaimer .

Emotions unavoidable of love’s evaporation

No longer to remain your love’s chamber.
